Das Malum perforans ist ein Ulcus oder eine Hornhautschwiele an der Fußsohle als Folge einer Polyneuropathie. Die Polyneuropathie ist dabei meist durch Diabetes mellitus hervorgerufen, was dann auch als Diabetisches Fußsyndrom bezeichnet wird.
